Paper Abstract:      In Poland, e-learning as a way of popularizing environmental issues is still not very widespread. So far few cirruculum programmes, in such version, have been published both within formal and informal educational sectors. One of them - the e-learning addressing the problem of municipal waste (http://www.segreguje.org.pl/) - functions like a hybrid, combining traditional forms of teaching with learning through computers. The course is addressed to teachers, who basing on teaching materials from the website, are to performed thematic packages concerning the latest news of municipal waste. Evaluation of this course, using pre-post test, is very promising. While half of the students had never applied the method of e-learning in their work, the vast majority believes that its use increases the effectiveness of teaching. This is confirmed by pre-/post tests carried out among students. It seems that e-learning has a good chance in Poland for a relatively rapid rise among the teaching methods.
